Who we are

Zippy Klean LLC, a Hawaiʻi limited liability company trading as Zippy Klean Auto Detailing, based in Kailua-Kona and operating across the island of Hawaiʻi.

This policy covers zippyklean.com and the information we handle when you contact us, book a service, or become a customer.

What we collect

What you give us. Your name, phone number, email address, the address where we are working, your vehicle details, and anything you tell us about the job. For coating customers we also record the VIN, because the warranty is registered against it.

Photographs. We photograph vehicles before and after work. This protects both of us — it documents condition on arrival and the result on completion.

Payment information. Card payments are handled by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number. We see and keep only what we need for our records, such as the last four digits and the amount.

From the website. Standard technical information your browser sends: IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and how you arrived. Our booking form is provided by Urable and is covered by their privacy terms as well as this one.

What we use it for

Quoting, scheduling and doing the work. Contacting you about your appointment. Taking payment. Registering and supporting your coating warranty, including with NanoPro® and CARFAX®.

Keeping service history, so that when you call in three years we know what is on your vehicle and what it needs.

Sending you service reminders and occasional offers — only if you have agreed to that, and you can stop at any time.

We do not sell your personal information. Not to anyone, for any purpose.

Who we share it with

NanoPro® — to register your coating warranty in your name. They need the owner and vehicle details for the warranty to exist.

CARFAX® — to record coating and maintenance services against your VIN, which supports your vehicle’s resale value.

Our payment processor and booking provider — to take payment and manage appointments.

Our technicians, who need your address and job details to do the work.

If the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim. Nothing else, and nobody else.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses cookies for basic function and to understand how people use it — which pages get read, where visitors arrive from, what is working and what is not.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Parts of the site may work less well if you do.

We may use advertising and analytics tools that set their own cookies. Where those tools offer an opt-out, you can use it directly with them.

Text messages and email

We use text messages for appointment confirmations, scheduling and quotes, because on this island that is how most people prefer to be reached. Replying STOP to any message stops them.

Marketing email goes only to people who have opted in. Every one carries an unsubscribe link and we honour it.

Messages about a job you have actually booked are service messages, not marketing, and you will get those regardless — they are how we tell you we are on the way.

Your choices

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Call or email and we will deal with it.

Some records we have to keep: tax and accounting records, and coating warranty records for as long as the warranty is live. We cannot delete a warranty registration and leave the warranty standing — the registration is what makes it enforceable.

If you are covered by a privacy law that gives you additional rights, those rights apply and we will honour them.

How long we keep it

Customer and service records: as long as you are a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, so your history is there when you come back.

Coating warranty records: for the life of the warranty. That is the point of them.

Financial records: as long as Hawaiʻi and federal tax law require.

Website analytics: in aggregate, on a rolling basis.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we keep the amount we hold small on purpose — the safest data is the data you never collected.

No system is perfectly secure and we are not going to claim otherwise. If there were ever a breach affecting your information, we would tell you.

Children

This is a service for vehicle owners. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date below. Material changes will be made clear rather than slipped in.
