What areas do you cover on the Big Island?
Everything on the West and North side — Kailua-Kona, Holualoa, Keauhou, Captain Cook, Kealakekua, Waikoloa, Waimea, Hawi and the Kohala Coast. On the East side we do coatings only, mobile only.
East side means Hilo, Keaau, Pahoa, Volcano and the Puna district. Those get Stealth Diamond Borograph and Liquid PPF packages. Detailing, paint correction and polishing stay West and North side.
It is a logistics limit rather than a preference. A coating is a planned job we can staff properly for the drive; a detail is not.
Is there a travel fee?
There is a $50 fee past 20 miles outside the Kona district, and none at all at the Kona shop.
Gas on this island runs well above the mainland and the run to Waimea, Hawi, Volcano or Hilo is real time in the truck. That fee goes straight to the technician working your job — it covers their fuel and their windshield time, and it is not a markup on the service.
We tell you the fee when you book. Never when we arrive.
What do you need from me?
Somewhere to park with room to work around the vehicle, a few hours, and access to water and power. We bring every machine, pad, towel and product the job needs.
Shade helps a lot — working in direct Kona sun makes products flash off before they can be worked, which is bad for the result. A carport, a garage or a shaded spot is ideal but not essential.
You do not need to be there the whole time. Plenty of customers leave keys and go to work.
Can you do a ceramic coating mobile, or does that need a shop?
Coatings can be done mobile and we do them that way regularly, but conditions matter more than for a detail — a coating needs a dry, controlled surface and a cure window.
Wind carrying dust or salt spray onto wet coating is the main risk, and it is a real one near the coast. We will tell you honestly whether your location works or whether the shop is the better call.
The Kona shop is there for exactly that, and there is no travel fee if you bring it in.
Do you work in the rain?
Not for coatings. Details we can usually manage under cover; coatings need a dry surface and a dry cure window.
This is the Big Island, so a wet morning in Hilo and a dry afternoon in Kona can be the same day. We watch it and we will call you rather than show up and waste both our time.
If we postpone, we postpone. We will not rush a coating onto damp paint to keep a schedule.
What are your hours?
Open seven days, 6am to 6pm. We start early deliberately — the best working conditions on this island are before the sun gets high.
Early starts are not us being heroic, they are us getting the better result. Panel temperature matters for both polishing and coating, and a 6am start in Kona is a very different surface to a 1pm one.
Call or text (808) 201-6005. We answer seven days.
Can I drop it off instead?
Yes. We have a shop in Kona and there is no travel fee if you bring the vehicle in.
Shop work is better for anything fiddly — brightwork, motorcycles, heavy correction — because the lighting is controlled and nothing is blowing onto wet product.
Tell us when you book which you would prefer.
